Poor Thatcher man hasn't mean having too much fun lately with countless visits to different doctors and having all sorts of tests. Early in January... we started noticing that he would have these staring spells that would last for 30-60 seconds and despite our best efforts, we couldn't get him to snap out of them. When he would finally come to... he would typically go limp. I didn't think much of it until Cynthia told me that he could be having seizures. At his 9 month appointment, I mentioned the spells to his pediatrician and he order an EEG and referred us to a neurologist. After his EEG came back clean, the neurologist was still skeptical so he ordered an MRI... which he had to be sedated for... so sad. We just got the results back from that and his brain looked good... the only thing they said was that it showed that he had a lot of fluid in his nose and ears... one expensive way to find out that he has a sinus or ear infection or just allergies. However, we think its this fluid that is causing his constant raspiness... so now onto an ENT and an allergist. As far as the seizures go... I am going to start marking the spells on a calendar... film one if I can... and follow up with the neurologist in a couple of months. Thatcher has been such a good sport and I hope we can figure this all out quickly so that he can get feeling better.
