After receiving so many delightful Christmas treats... we decided we needed to try and make some of them ourselves. Butter Mints and Sea Foam are a few of our favorite things.... and rather hard to make. We tried several recipes and even had someone come try to teach us... I think we finally got a little better at it... but we are far from professionals. My favorite is the Sea Foam... because I love just the inside and you can eat as much as you want, chocolate free! Butter Mints are weird because they are so temperamental... you have to pull them like taffy when they are super hot... then cool them as fast as you can... cut them... and let them sit for several days until they turn into their rich buttery goodness. If you attempt to eat them right after... it tastes a lot like lion house taffy and is so sticky and hard. So much fun... but so much work.
