The MOVE...

Like most of our big ideas... selling our house came out of no where.  When Egbert's moved out of our ward in May... we considered making the change... but by June we decided to stay put and we refinanced.  Then the first part of October comes and Tanner jokingly said... "If we could get $X amount of money for the house and sell it by owner... would you consider moving?"  Thinking that it wouldn't happen, I agreed and even made him some signs and took all of the pictures.  Less than 48 hours later, we had our first offer and we took it.  I had no idea what I was in for.  We made arrangements to move into the Purser's house until the house we wanted was built and started packing.  We had to be out in 30 days and had tons to do.  So far in the move... we have suffered several casualties.  The first was our big 50" tv that was in the basement.... Thatcher took a curtain rod to it and shattered the screen.  "I hit it and made a spider web mom."  The next was the crock pot.  Then we had a bunch of dings and dents on all of the furniture... to be expected.  The worst... and saddest... was that we gave Bella away.   My heart still hurts whenever I think about it, but it was unrealistic to take her with us for the temporary part of our living arrangements... and I didn't really want to have a dog (actually dog hair) in my new house.  So I posted her on facebook and KSL and we had zero hits.  We literally thought we might have to take her to the humane society (worst people ever).  Then I thought to post, not just a picture, but a video of her doing all of her tricks.  I had people waiting in line to take her after that.  I even had people criticize me for not doing enough homework on the home I had selected. The cutest little family with one 3 year old boy took her.  They had a big yard and wanted a well trained older dog.  Finding a home was one thing... distracting the kids so that they didn't figure out what was happening was another.  I had the family pick her up the day before we left for Disneyland... hoping that the kids would forget that we even had a dog by the time we got home.   Worked like a charm.  Emerson didn't even notice until a full month after we had gotten home from our trip when she saw a picture of a puppy and said, "I don't like puppies, except for Bella.... hey, where is Bella?"  We both played dumb and she just let it go and hasn't brought it up since.  The last picture in this post is one of the very last pictures I took of her and it makes me so sad... but I just have to remind myself that Bella is probably happier where she is... I hope.  Overall, I can't believe we started this whole process and are building a new house.  All I can say is... March can't come soon enough!
